Update... finally. [Jun. 23rd, 2004|11:51 am]
[feeling | angry]

Today was really awful.
I got out of bed really late because my alarm clock has broken and I cannot afford a new one at the moment.

I feel good because today I getting my lip pierced! Finally! Mom said I could and she's signed the forms and EVERYTHING!

I'm so angry. Paul is grounded. AGAIN! And I'm not allowed to see him. EVER. It's just NOT FAIR. I hate my mom and I wish she was dead. This wouldn't happen if I was allowed to live with dad.

Last night I had to clean all of the toiilets in the house.

I want to tell the world that I'm gay.

I am making this journal friends only because I don't want the world to read what I'm writing, even though I'm posting it on the internet.

Today, I got a digital camera! Yes! But I don't know how to work it. Can you help me?

I want to say thanks to the world for absolutely fucking nothing! You all suck. I feel so alone, no one ever reads this journal, or even comments to let me know that I'm not suffering alone. It's cold here, and I want to die, but I cannot figure out how many of you to take with me when I go.

I went to the doctor yesterday, and he said I have bipolar disorder, and a healthy imagination.

You should all do this quiz! It's amazingly accurate. You just put in your name and birthday, and it will tell you what job you'll do when you grow up.

Uh, I'll have to go leave early today to go visit the doctor about that disorder I have... it sucks.

That's enough for now. But I'll leave you with this thought - sharing your life with strangers on the internet is the cheapest form of therapy available. Leave a comment and tell me I'm beautiful.

'Been researching state record times for the girl's 100m. The fastest was 11.29 seconds or summat. I asked Dad was his time was, and it's 13 something seconds from back in the 1960s or something! (school era) I haven't even been timed, but I'm aiming for 11-12 seconds... I put the ice pack in the fridge.

Overload... overload... [Mar. 14th, 2004|11:32 am]
[feeling | full]
[listening to |Redder2k radio on Winamp]

Jeebus, I have a lot of things to do today...

I filled my brain to bursting with sprinting techniques on the Internet yesterday. So... much information...! A whole treasure trove of information, actually. I joined [Unknown LJ tag] yesterday and confirmed the tidbit of info I picked up yesterday. World class sprinters actually take three breaths while sprinting the 100m! Or less, I've heard. On the 4x100, I was running the last 125 (?) meters, and I noticed I hardly took a breath while running. I was gasping afterwards, though.

I felt bad that Coach Turner put me in the 100m on that home meet last Thursday. I think he had high hopes that I would finish spectacularly, after watching me sprint during practice. He even took to memorizing my name! Heh... My ankles and calves are feeling much better now, and I think I can do a few sets of those sprint/jogs on the sidewalk at dusk today. I think they were called trailblazers? They're the essence of evil itself when the team used to do those at practice. You have to sprint up to a certain mark, jog back, sprint x2 of that mark, jog back, and so on. They can improve speed, so...

Oh, and we've been watching 'official US government footage' of the Holocaust during World History... It's uncensored, and particularly gruesome. It sickens me that someone would actually do that to their fellow human beings... The emasculated, skeletal survivors walking around weakly... it's very graphic. The stacks of corpses piled sky-high in sheds.. a few soldiers digging up bodies from the shallow dirt graves for autopsies... electrocuted men and women next to one of those electrical fences... there was a part showing the trains bringing additional people to move to the concentration camps. When the doors were opened, everyone inside were dead, arms flung out, bodies jumbled all over the place. The few that survived were amazing, even if a small bit died after been 'rescued'. I have to write an essay on that today, along with the Hitler one I forgot to do last week 'cause of the track meet.

I need to get that birthday preview sketch for MEGZ uploaded at school, if it's done by then..

Uh. [Mar. 12th, 2004|10:20 pm]
[feeling | sleepy]

Uh... interesting day today.

I didn't make the cut for the invitational meet this Saturday for track, meaning that I'm not good enough to go. 7th place in the 100m dash must've looked really bad, eh? There's always a chance at next Thursday's meet to prove myself, right? Diana's going, of course. She did great in the JV distance running, placing 1st twice. Only a handful of girls made it for that meet, and Meghan cried in the locker room because she didn't make it. She must really set her standards high. Nadir's still sick, so she wasn't at school.

I actually 'participated' in touch football for PE today. Our team was made up of mostly girls and I managed to get everyone who tried to get the ball into our zone thingy. One of the boys yelled 'she almost got my crotch!' when I dived in to get him. That was really exaggerating though. Heh. All I did was get the side of his waist. Jeebus.

My ankle still hurts like heck, and we had a short practice today. My ankle'd better heal quickly so I can do my best at practice next week. Wish me luck.

First track meet [Mar. 11th, 2004|07:56 pm]
[feeling | tired]
[listening to |Wendy Clear]

Wow... my first track meet.

The sunblock Dad gave me doesn't really work; my face and arms are really, really tanned. Not that it's bad or anything, but I don't like to be tanned *too* much. There's also the risk of skin cancer and stuff. I guess it doesn't matter because it'll go back to its original color in the winter or something. I'm going to wear a visor at next practice!

I was supposed to do the 4x100 relays yesterday, and Turner appointed me with the title of 'leg four', or 'anchor', meaning I'd be the one to race toward the finish line with baton in hand. Well, I practiced with the wrong group (the leg ones, or starters) yesterday and didn't know squat about what the anchor was supposed to do. The bleachers were slowly filling up with family members, teachers, and a couple of students. I had Salonpas patches stuck all over my thigh and leg to relieve my sore muscles. (it has menthol, thus providing cooling relief and heat afterwards) I think that my sore leg muscles were the reason I was so slow in the 100m sprint/dash/thing. I was getting out my spikes when I saw my world history teacher; he looked astonished at seeing me in the track team. Anyway, (Nadir was sick so she wasn't at school) Diana, Heidi, Megan, me (horrible grammar, I know), and a couple of other girls headed down onto the track. A lot of Sultana's (opposing team) runners were warming up.. they wore uniforms of eye-blinding mint green. Diana and I, on the other hand, didn't get our uniforms so we were the only girls wearing our PE uniforms. We didn't care much, though. The coaches made us do the usual two laps and stretching. All of the girls looked at a list with the events and our names on it--I was to do the relay and the 100m. Afterwards, Heidi tried to teach me how to properly get the baton and some other things besides. I got confused at one point, but we settled the problem down. After a couple of mock relay practices, we decided to stretch our legs a little; that was when the announcer called for the JV girls 4x100 relay team to line up. Sultana only had one team and Serrano had two. The gun-man gave us which lines to take, and I went over to the end of the field, feeling a little dazed. I didn't know where to go so I asked the guy walking next to me where I should go. It turned out he was an anchor leg, too, but in the JV boys. As the other anchor legs lined up, I stood in the middle of the field, unsure of what to do. Coach Turner came to me and asked if I was okay, and if I knew where to stand. I didn't really understand the 'getting your 12-step mark on the ground' until then. Adam was on the side of the track and came over to help me as I didn't know what to do. He answered the few of the questions I had and returned to his spot on the side. I forgot to thank him, though. I was in my 'ready' stance when the gun was fired. Sultana 'leg one' was a fast one; she dashed forward ahead of the Serrano girls with baton in hand. I thought that Serrano was going to lose... A few moments later, Heidi was sprinting at full speed behind me, having crossed the mark I had put on the ground. I then began to sprint ahead and gripped the baton as she yelled 'STICK!' Sultana 'leg four' was nowhere to be seen and I ran with full, even strides. The other Serrano 'leg four' of team two was right next to me and we fought each other for speed. As the finish line came closer, I put on a burst of speed and ran ahead of the other girl, 'winning' by two lengths. I was happy, thinking that our team had won, but Diana came over, whispering 'we got DQed...' over and over again. I found out it meant that our team was disqualified, but the other Serrano girls had won. It didn't really matter 'cause we all won in a way.. The reason my team got DQed was because Diana didn't hand the baton to Heidi quickly enough. I wasn't aware of what was happening so I ran on... for nothing, I guess. We were all a little crestfallen, but glad that the girls JV won. It turned out that Sultana was DQed too, but for what reason I'll never know.

Oh well. After that, we sat around in the grass and stretched to get rid of stiff muscles. A few of the other V (varsity, and JV is junior varsity) girls came by and
congratulated us (even if one of the teams got DQed), and looked sharply at me. Ha. Diana was called up for the 1400 distance running, and off she went. She was in the
middle of the other girls but slowly moved up to second towards half of the field. Six minutes later, she got fourth place, I think. All of the girls took to stretching again, drinking water, and looking at the events taking place. It was quite boring, but the V girls told us that we should get our legs warmed up no matter what. A guy next to me (I forgot his name; he used to be in my 1st semester art class) was quietly discussing the flames on my spikes with a girl. He looked at them admiringly for a while, all the while saying that he'd do his spikes with the same decals. I felt flattered. I STARTED A STUPID TREND IN MY TRACK TEAM! XD Many, many minutes later, the announcer lady called for the 100m JV girls to check in their names. From the list I had seen earlier, I was to be in the second heat, and I was glad. She told us that the fastest girls should be in the first heat, and the slowest in the second. I was supposed to be in the second heat anyway, so I didn't complain. The lady person asked me at which lane I wanted to stand in; she forced me to choose seven. The blocks were set, and I stood at my lane (the second heat girls had to stand behind the blocks of the first heat), looking at the first heat girls set their blocks. As I stood there, the lady person ran to me and yelled at me: 'Since there's no one at your block for first heat, why don't you do the first heat instead?' STUPID LADY! And I obliged and set my block. The gun-man yelled 'READY?' (I got in my position), and bellowed 'SET?' (I raised my lead leg and bum)... 'GO!' I wasn't paying attention when the gun fired, and I had a two second delay, I think. That was what made me slow, along with me being forced to run first heat with the fastest runners, and my sore muscles. I was the last one sprinting by then, and I didn't bother catching up because I knew whatever effort I made would be futile; the other girls were AHEAD of me. Meghan came in second last though, and me last. I should've protested and gone in the second heat instead... oh well, a loss is a loss, I can do better the next time. Right? Diana told us we did okay, and I had to clear something up with the timing people for me forced into first heat. Regrets, regrets, regrets. If my team hadn't been DQed... for the relays...

...which gives me a huge reason to practice more at home. Gabriel and Josue was there in the bleachers by then, and met up when I trudged up the bleachers and to Nadir's mom. Josue taunted 'YOU LOST....' over and over until Gabriel told him to shut up. They had come in when I was doing the 100m. I told Gabriel about my frustrations and he sympathized. I got dropped off, ate food, and lazed around. When it was cool enough, I went outside to practice my sprints and starting position. I must've looked ridiculous because the neighborhood kids were staring at Mindy and I. (I was crouching on the ground, in set position) My legs were aching so I went back inside and had a good conversation with Nadir; I filled her in on what had happened on the days she was absent. (she left school early on Wednesday and didn't come today) She told me that I tried, and that was all that mattered. I knew that, of course.

So yeah. The back of my ankle has a deep, red scratch from running so hard. And sore, sore legs. It's a wonder if I'm ever going to perform on Saturday's meet. (if I'm going at all... transportation difficulties)

I think Sharmaine quit track.

TRACK... SPRINTS... [Mar. 9th, 2004|04:51 pm]
[feeling | tired]
[listening to |Grab the devil by the horns -Sum 41]

I actually like this song; nice use of the guitars, I guess? It doesn't have any vocals except for one falsetto 'yeaaaaaaaaaaaah!' somewhere in the end. I learned the main riff thinger sometime last week.

During PE, the coach made the girls into two small teams (and all of the girls) and made them compete against each other. No one really felt like playing, and the game was sloooow. (touch football) Meanwhile, the guys were having fun running around and playing... I got hit in the finger by the ball and it hurts a little and also has little white marks on the nail. Eh, who cares. I actually managed to make a good defense, and for once. Jessica was bored, and went out to take a walk around the field. Amanda had her PE shorts on, and sweats over it. In mockery of the boys (you know, their pants hanging waaaaaaaay down), she had her entire arse (shorts on) exposed. She yelled 'if the guys can show their butt, why can't the girls?' And one of the boys retorted with a 'well, that's 'cause our arses aren't THAT big'. Heh.

Nothing really interesting happened at school, except TRACK! Ha, varsity, my arse! Anyway, today was extremely hot as the usual (weatherman says the heat wave will continue until the end of this week) and everyone wore shorts. (of course!) I forgot my running shoes at home because I was in a hurry, so I ran in my Chucks. CHUCKS! It's gotta be a record of some sort. I mean, at least it wasn't as bad as running a mile in OXFORD PENNYLOAFERS! (last year) I managed through the two laps a bit more easier, and I felt refreshed. For some odd reason, Sharmaine wasn't at practice though Nadir did see her earlier. Huh? After stretching, we ambled over to the sprinting team, unsure of what to do. Coach Turner actually knows my name--I'm impressed. I don't think anyone would take the time to know my name, my name of all things. We did the usual warmups and the coach gave us ten minutes to put our spikes on. I did, and Nadir and I each finished rehydrating ourselves with Gatorade and water. My feet didn't feel as weighed down as before, and that felt great. We had to divide into small groups of six and sprint about 100m, I think. I was probably second with Meghan first and Nadir last. Not too bad, eh? A couple of guys behind me commented on my spikes to themselves. (the flame decals!) Ha, don't I feel special. We did those a couple of times and I was first on the last one. By that time, Nadir was getting worried because she had to go to her church by five for a play they were working on. So we asked Turner if we could leave, and he said yes, saying that we had a good workout. My backpack weighed down on my back again, but I managed to get up three flights of stairs and a few bleachers.

The locker room was locked and Nadir yelled 'FUDGE!'... that was when we spotted the janitor. We went inside, changed, and went back outside, hoping that the library was open. I had told Dad to come at 4:30, and it was 4:00 so we were hoping to call Dad and tell him to come earlier. I guess Nadir lucked out because Dad was there waiting with Aunt and Mindy. We climbed in, and Aunt waved to Robert and John Michael sitting out on the grass. I asked her why she was waving, and she told me that they were really nice boys. o_O Anyway, we dropped Nadir off and went home. My calves and ankles were aching for some odd reason.

So here I am with an empty stomach, stinky feet, and a tan. (again, probably.. I forgot to put sunblock on my face) I hope the weather gets COLDER next week. I'm not really a fan of summer weather. Oh, and there's a track meet on Thursday. Along with a math test. x_x

Up to the date. [Mar. 8th, 2004|06:13 pm]
[listening to |Makes No Difference -S41]

Well, today was rather interesting.

Nadir called yesterday to check with Dad if it was okay to drop Gabriel off to school as her mom was in LA. We picked them up in the morning, but they were late and wouldn't answer the phone... And so I had to walk across the street and ring the doorbell to see why they weren't coming out. That was when Gabriel opened the door and called for Nadir, and we went out to the car and drove to school.

World History: Remember the odd psychic feeling thing? Well, as I was walking to the classroom, I had an odd feeling that Michael wasn't there, and that he was late. Thirty minutes into the test, I was right. Freaky, eh? Anyway, we had an exam in class, and one that I actually studied for. It was a breeze--multiple choice, baby! I guess I did well on the test, as usual. The exam took almost all of the period and everyone was relieved at the end.

Web Design: This is the most yawn-inducing class in the world, I tell ya. Everytime Dennison whips out the projector screen to look at a video tutorial, my eyes immediately start to close halfway. The kids next to me do the same as well; some putting their heads down and sleeping. Steven always and I mean always asks me for a pen during 'do now' time, and I sarcastically breathed, 'WOW, YOU ACTUALLY BROUGHT A PEN!' But then he told me that it was a borrowed pen, and that he meant to return it. I think I tease him to much... The last time he asked me for a pen, I told him to name ten good reasons why. He even offered me a dollar--to which I politely refused. Heh. We're learning HR LINES AND HOW TO CHANGE THE LINK COLORS! HOW EXCITING!!!!!! Not. I guess it's new and exciting for the others as they don't know, but I know most of the stuff by heart and.... well, you know.

Agriculture: Rhonda gave me a note explaining why she wasn't coming to track practice and left. The note said that she was hit in the temples by a friend and a throbbing headache was bothering her. She actually said that she was going to run the 100m dash, which is kind of unbelievable, considering her weight. (not to be mean or anything) She has a bit of asthma as well, and I don't think she can do it, but power to her if she can. (even though she can get annoying sometimes) We walked up to the greenhouse and picked the weeds from out of the garden beds. It was beautiful; a whole mass of maroon and green clovers littering the beds. I didn't find any four-leaf clovers; it would've been great if I had. After about half an hour in there, we went back into the classroom and spent the rest of the period in boredom.

English: There was a note taped onto the door telling us to go to the PAC for periods 1,4, and 5. Brandon was about to go up to the classroom when I told him we had to go to the PAC. He asked me where that would be, and I showed him the way. We walked in silence for a while, and finally went to the PAC. We're doing course registrations for junior year. I don't know why, but I feel kind of sad and hesitant. Maybe it's because high school is going to be over in two years... I remember when I was in 8th grade, dreading my first day as a freshman. I know I'm going to feel a little empty, but there's always the prospect of college though it'll never be the same. I guess I don't really want to grow up and get a whole load of responsibilities added to me. :( Anyway, the lady there explained each of the courses we would be taking and told us that the counselors would be meeting with us in English. I think I might take an ROP class in Screen printing; it sounds fun, I guess. I don't know if I should go for an AP class or not... I'll go talk it out with the counselor when the time comes. We each received a copy of our transcripts, and the kid who has the highest (#1) GPA ranking of all of the sophomores was there. As for me, I'm #39 out of 650 students. Total GPA=3.948. Not too bad, huh? Maybe I'll be eligible to graduate with high honors.

PE: The coach STILL wasn't there, and I wonder what happened to him. The sub we had last week was there, and I was grateful. At least he's not a sexist idiot like the coach. We played out in four separate teams as usual, and the sun overhead was hot. It's March, and it feels like summer! I do NOT want to know how the weather'll be like in June. The high desert can get really, really hot. It gets into the high 90s everyday in the summer and the 80s during the night. JEEBUS. Touch football, yup. Our teams didn't really play as there weren't a lot of people, and we played around more often then actually playing. It was a relief when we went back inside.

Lunch: I ate half of my PB&J and Nadir and I walked to the shady area where it was free of crowds. We sat there and talked for a while until a senior came over and sat behind Nadir. He started playing with her hair, and I sat there, stunned. I actually thought she knew him! The guy kept on murmuring 'hey' several times, and I replied with a loud 'okay...?'. When the bell rang, we both dashed off to our classes.

Math: THANK LAWDBUS! I still have an A in that class. But we have a test this Thursday and a quiz tomorrow. I just know that I'm going to fail it. x_x

Track: Nadir and I thought it would be best to wear our gym shorts because it was blisteringly hot outside. Most of the girls had the same idea, and we all had shorts on except for Sharmaine. Robert was at the meet last Saturday, and showed us the battle scars on his calf. There were three long gouges left from tripping over the last hurdle on his spikes. Ouch. He won fourth place from out of four participants. I guess it's not too bad, but he seemed upset. While we stretching, the coaches awarded the medals to everyone who won something at the last meet. One of the coaches gave an extra 1st place medal to a boy for free! Free! Ha, lucky guy. Adam obviously got one; he works hard. Sharmaine told us that all of the girls on the team were on Varsity because of the shortages on the other district teams. HA, me varsity. That's pretty laughable. Coach Morrow told us to go work with the sprinting team, so off we went. We did a few leg warmups, and the coach made fun of me. Or picked on me, rather. After that, we ran and ran and ran and... you guessed it, ran some more. I think I got tanned from being out in the sun for too long. I need to get sunblock on tomorrow.. Everyone's faces were red from the heat, and Nadir and I finished my waterbottle by the end. (by waterfalls) While we were resting out in the grass, Sharmaine asked how long we would be practicing with the sprinters to Morrow. He replied by saying that we weren't really hurdlers, and that he thought it would be best if we tried another sport. He didn't really say the latter, but he gave us a hint. I think I'll try the long jumps and 100m sprint/dash/whatchamacallit. That's what Nadir said as well. I showed Sharmaine the flames on my spikes, and she thought they came with the designs. I told her I painted them, and she told me I did a good job. We left to go to the weightroom; and my backpack weighed down on me like a ton of bricks. When we were outside, Nadir was trying to adjust the weights and got her finger pulled in from the suction. I didn't know what was happening at first, and started panicking. She was whimpering 'it's stuck' and 'it's hurting' with a pained look on her face. I ran to one of the guys and told him that my friend's finger was stuck on the weights. He came over and fiddled with the weights, and the thing finally came off of her finger. The vein inside was cut and her finger was cut into about all the way. Blood immediately started pouring out in streams and I told her to go to the office to get a bandaid. One of the supervisors there casually examined it and called for one of the girls to get a bandaid. I think he took it too calmly. It was rather scary. I mean, what would you do with blood flowing out in streams from out of your thumb? I helped Nadir put her bandaid on and we went out. I guess we'll do the weightroom the next time. But with gloves. Ouch. The weather had cooled down a bit, an a cool breeze played across the campus. Chris had left his cellphone at Nadir's house, so she called him and talked for a while. Then we headed to the dropoff place and waited for Dad to come.

Later: I asked Dad if he could buy us milkshakes, and he obliged. We went inside to buy milkshakes and two large french fries. As we waited for our order, I noticed that that weirdo at lunch was working from behind the counter. He stared at Nadir while working and finally came out and kept on repeating 'hey, girl!', 'hey', 'don't you remember me?' One of the guys working kept on leering at us. We hurriedly left and I suggested that she flip him off the next time. Heh. Then we went to Nadir's grandma's house to pick up Gabriel, and then we left for Chris' house to drop off the cellphone. That we did, and we said good-byes.

Hm. [Mar. 6th, 2004|09:36 pm]
[feeling | depressed]
[listening to |Adam's Song -B182 (so?)]

Adam's Song )

I don't know, I felt kinda depressed after listening to this song. The lyrics, you know.

Anyway, I visited LA for my orthodontist appointment and collected a donation of $20 for my track team. I also bought my spikes/track shoes at Big 5 near the mall; it's NIKE! And half a size bigger... The smallest size they had was 7, and my shoe size is 6 and a half. Oh well, it still fits me. After I came home, I decorated the blank white sides with RED/ORANGE/YELLOW FLAME DECALS! It looks super spiffy now. Ha, I wonder what people'll say next week at track practice.

Michael stuff: He joined MY PE class for some odd reason on Friday with his friend. I don't know why, but I hope he's not stalking me. Outside, the coach gathered us in to talk about something and he stood right behind me when he could've been somewhere else. Oh, and showing off while playing football. The coach gave us an option of either playing or walking around--I chose walking around. Luckily, Nadir and the rest were outside with the volleyball class walking around as well. I joined them, and we walked two laps all the while talking, and went up to change. Nadir decided to look at this 'Michael' during lunch, and we saw him going into the cafeteria. So we did, and he looked at us while in line. Then we bumped into him several times... O_O Not to mention he waited until I came into view while I was running to get into World History before going inside. (I was running late) And getting very vocal in class.

Yesterday: I went to youth group with Nadir. It was fun, except there were three big labradors (black, gold, and brown) who kept sniffing my bum and slobbering all over me. Ha, nice welcoming greeting. But they got used to me later on. The 'band' played lots and lots of Christian songs, and only one of them was quickly paced. Yeah, the songs were slow, and involved the use of an acoustic-electric. It was rather interesting, and for a late dinner we ate lasagna, pizza, and Phillipine curry rice.

If you have a DEVart account, feel free to comment from there. Feedback is appreciated. XD

Some weirdo keeps on calling and not saying a word on the phone. It's the third time this happened; twice yesterday and once today. Jeebus.

Minimum day today; Nadir, Rhonda, Sharmaine, and I left early from practice to go to the weightroom. To our dismay, it was closed and locked. So we changed in the locker room and bought junk food from the vending machines. Then we talked for about an hour outside in the empty school grounds. It was quite peaceful, actually, though we talked about the weirdest things. Yeah, I guess that's it. I need to buy spikes for hurdles. Blech. And Nadir and I have to get our pictures taken and uniform sizes written down--we forgot to do that today, so we'll do that tomorrow. The real torture is tomorrow, as the 'real' hurdle coach was absent today. Noooooooooooooooooooooo....

I need to do my math quiz. Since it was minimum day, the teacher allowed us to take it home. It's not that bad. Mindy cut her hand on a pair of scissors... I was practicing my guitar when all of a sudden, she comes bawling and screaming, holding up her finger. It was bleeding profusely, and Aunt came to bandage it up. I supplied the Neosporin.

That's it. Not really much of a lively update, but eh.

Ha, two more! Best Director and Best Picture! Hopefully, RotK will win both, thus earning recognition for the fantasy genre. YEAH! It really sucks 'cause I can't watch the Oscars... the reception up here is bad so ABC won't come on; it's all static and grainy black and white. I have to shower soon anyway. I'll check up on the rest after showering. *crosses fingers* I'm getting the results via TheOneRing.net.

Not to mention I spent 4 hours coloring and inking A NEW PICTURE!!! I have it saved on disk, so I'll upload it during Web Design in class. :D

Wow... the sky just turned grey and cloudy. It's not exactly cloudy looking, but the entire sky is light grey--there aren't any stray patches of color, just one huge expanse of light grey. It's pretty awesome.. I wish I had a digital camera with me. Hmm.. I just heard a clap of thunder and rain is already dropping down.

[listening to |Screaming For Vengeance -Judas Priest]

The weather up here sure is weird... Around lunchtime, the sky suddenly became REALLY overcast and ice pellets started to drift down from the sky. After sixth period, the pellets changed to rain and gales. Track practice was changed because of that... YEAH! I don't have to exercise my already sore body, which is a huge relief. Bad news, I have a B in Algebra. I'd better get that up soon; I think I failed today's quiz. Ha, B for bad news. It might be good for some, but I have things at stake here. It's funny now 'cause the sky is clearing up and the sun is out. Garn, I wanted a blizzard to hit school. Oh well.

Nothing really important happened today, aside from the rain. Thank lawd I had my hoodie on. I talked to Jessica about random things during PE instead of playing basketball. We had shortened periods, so there was no need to play football. It was either play basketball or walk around. We chose the latter.

MINIMUM DAYS ROCK!

And I might go snowboarding/skiing/sledding with Nadir's youth group this Sunday. How fun. :D

AND NO ONE IS HOME! WOO!

I'm thinking about making this friends only... even though no one really does read it, I'm kinda paranoid.

Augh... [Feb. 17th, 2004|06:37 pm]
[feeling | sore]
[listening to |Trapt]

I guess this is the price you pay for trying out for track. My back, calves, thighs, and feet are sore as heck. I can barely stretch my back out or bend down, for the matter. [insert big groan right here] Oh well, at least I'm getting into shape. All I need to do is get student insurance and then I'm eligible to really practice; which is what I just did. The coaches had us run two laps around the 350/400? meter track. It looks easy at first, but by the last lap, I was panting. Nadir, Charmaine (if that's how you spell it), and I were the last ones running out of the entire group. After that, we formed a huge circle and stretched out. Coach Cornell took roll call and he asked those who he hadn't called to talk to him. I told him that I had everything turned into the ASB office but didn't get the student insurance mailed out. He told me that I could hang around the groups that were practicing. Nadir ran off to join the long jump group, and after a few moments of indecision, Charmaine and I decided to go join the distance runners group. The group was already running and the coach gave us a confidence booster... and as the group ran over our way, we slid in up front and ran. One of the assistant coaches ran easily beside us and introduced himself. Heh.. we were the last ones running as well. He teased us and after, we had to jog to the first corner of the field and do ten leg lifts. We then had to jog to the second corner and do ten push-ups, jog to the third corner and do 10 sit-ups, and jog to the last corner and do 10 revolutionaries. The assist. coach suggested Charmaine try the hurdles as she is tall and has long legs. He told us how to run--run naturally and three feet away from the hurdle, you run on your tip-toes then jump over. The hurdle wasn't that big, it was up to my hips, and I'm 5'3 or 2 and half or something! The assist. coach isn't that tall; about the same height as me, but he effortlessly cleared it. I wish it was as simple as that.. He boasted to us that he was the high desert champion, and that he couldn't run in middle school but steadily rose through ranks after practice. Charmaine jumped over it quite easily. Nadir was walking because she had chest cramps so I invited her to join our group. Another girl joined after a while; making our group six, including the assist. coach's little brother. Nadir and the girl jumped over and soon, it was my turn. I grew nervous as the hurdle loomed closer, but managed to get over. I think I pulled something in my back as I jumped over. As the sky grew darker, we each took turns jumping over it. Everyone except me and the assist. coach knocked it over at one point. I was amazed by my own luck. :p I saw Nadir's little brothers and mom look from the bleachers. Josue was showing off and running to and fro in the bleachers. We were free to leave, and it was 4:20 or so... We happily climbed over lots of stairs to the girl's locker room.

I got a freaking C on my math test. Two C's in a row; that can't be good. And they were STUPID, STUPID, IDIOTIC mistakes. I'm going to retake that one as well. AUGH... At least I don't have to sign the test or anything. I have to do the study packet thing for algebra so I can retake the last test. Isn't it odd that I started to get bad grades after changing seats? Peh. Lucky seats, I tell ya.

I just ate dinner.. I had eaten two small cookies for lunch; pathetic, I guess.

We went to LA...

Doctor's office: I got weighed, measured, and a whole bunch of other stuff. I also got my physical completed by the doctor. It was a big surprise when the assistant remarked that I weighed 109 lbs. I know for a fact I weighed 125 the summer I last visited him for a shot. (June 2003) The doc casually asked, 'You've been exercising, huh?' I've never really exercised ever since I came up here, and I think the real reason I lost so much weight was because of poor diet. Mom never really came home because she had to work so I hardly ate breakfast, and thrived on fast food and instant ramen. I didn't eat a lot of lunch, either, mainly because I didn't feel like it. The doc also told me not to eat too many salty foods after checking my blood pressure. Those instant ramen have about 2000 mgs of sodium. No wonder. Now that my aunt's home, the entire family has been eating healthy and well. Heh! I also got my last shot taken care of. I clenched my aunt's arm when the doc jabbed the needle onto my right arm. Ouch. But it was over and done.

Ortho's office: I got my wire changed, and my teeth are pretty sore at the moment, but only the back ones. At least I can chew using the left side of my mouth. At one point, the assistant breathed 'oh my god' while she was pulling out the old wire. She told me that the wire was actually imbedded inside of my gums. O_O IMBEDDED! AS IN INSIDE! Blech. She asked if it hurt while she gently tugged at it, and I said no. It came out and she showed it to me. That's an awful long piece of wire to have gotten inside of my gums. *shudders*

I ate a really spicy stew at a restaurant and drank about five cupfuls of water. (I had to go the bathroom A LOT afterwards) Aunt bought baked goods at a bakery nearby and she treated us with Popingsu, which is a cool confectionary with red beans, fruit, shaved ice, and strawberry syrup. Oh, and while we were driving home, I held my bladder for over 2 hours. Now, that's not very good, but there was no chance that we could stop to use the restroom. I had gone before, but didn't know I'd have to again. I fell asleep at some point and woke up to my full bladder again. Thank lawd we were close to our house... as soon as the car stopped I made a mad dash to the restroom and thus was relieved. XD

Track: Agony and Suffering? [Feb. 11th, 2004|07:50 pm]
[feeling | bouncy]
[listening to |FM Static]

Nothing really happened but the highlight of my day was when a girl in my PE class slipped on the mud. The guys hardly toss the ball to the girls, but this time, they casually tossed it to one of the girls. She ran and dodged all of my team's attempts to snag her flag. I *almost* got it, but missed by an inch. Well, she neared the line, slipped on the mud and fell to her butt. Everyone stared in horror open-mouthed and one of her teammates said, 'Well, that counts as a touchdown." Then everyone started cracking up. XD

I got my athlete clearance form from the head coach; it's not too late to join. I might be up and at it on the field by next Tuesday, the day when the rest of the team (returning athletes) is going to come to practice. Heh. 75 boys and 30 girls on the regular team. The head coach said that if I wanted a quick physical done, to go to one of the local chiropracters because they do 'em as well. I'll just go to my regular doctor on Saturday whilst getting my shots done. Urgh. It'll be uncomfortable, I'll tell you what. What with a old male doctor and everything. Oh well... Well, I powerwalked all the way to the locker rooms after algebra. I got an A on the last quiz!) My legs were aching by then, but I went on. I lent my big jacket to Nadir as she had the you-know-whats and was concerned about her shorts. It turned out there really are about 6 girls and 20 boys trying out. Wow. I watched from the bleachers as the group ran two laps around track. Nadir was the last one (she had bad cramps) of the line, and came in last as well. After a bit, everyone stretched and split into groups headed by different coaches. The boys were to run up and down the bleachers about 8 times or so. They were all fresh and ready (a few enthusiastically yelling 'YEAH!') around the first two laps but in the end, they panted heavily and sagged behind. After they were done, their coach advised them to soak in Epson salt when they got home. The girls did this after them, but only about 4 times. It seems hard. They have to run up the bleachers but sideways to develop a muscle or something. Then I watched the guys do relay races and sprints. After a while, I thought I saw Gabriel above me. It turned out I was right, he was there, and so was Joshua. We joked and talked for two hours. Nadir was quite tired, sore after, and could barely walk up the steps. We ate at Burger King afterwards and filled our stomachs. Oh, and after watching all that running (straight for two hours! O_O), I decided to condition myself until Tuesday, the day where I really practice. I'm going to start running up and down the stairs until I can do no more, and jog around the neighborhood until I can build up my speed and endurance. I can barely run a lap without wheezing and coughing. Blech, I'm in bad shape--the same as the condition Nadir is in right now. I miss my elementary school days; endless weeks of tag, capture the flag, yeesh. I was REALLY fit then. I could run for hours. Now I'm a useless blob with flabby arms. Heh. Anyway, off to DDR and stairclimbing.

Track tryouts... [Feb. 10th, 2004|07:09 pm]
[feeling | cheerful]
[listening to |Something To Believe In -FM Static]

Mom woke up really late, so thus, we got to school a little later than usual. But we still made it!

World History: I had my dragon doodles out because I was doing my part of the trade with Alli. Jason came in, glanced at my desk and demanded that he see them. He breathed 'awesome' several times, and handed them to Jeremy--who had just come in. He took one look at the drawings and disbelief showed on his face... he yelled, 'YOU'VE GOT TOO MUCH FREE TIME!' The teacher shuffled over and he complimented them and asked if I could make a copy so that he could hang it on the wall. (Alli's part of the trade was on the wall as well--a drawing of a unicorn) Joe, or King Whitey ('cause he has really *light* blonde whitish hair) came in and went into where all the attention was centered at. Heh... funny what one drawing can do. o_O Anyway, we spent all of class going over our worksheets.

Web Design: We couldn't go on the computers because of maintenance or something, so we all sat at the desks again. I drew evil flying monkeys with bat wings for Alex, and he gleefully took the drawing. The teacher was back in full health, and we resumed watching 'You Got Mail' again. I drew more flying monkeys during the movie, and Chad did his homework. Alex and I also talked about spy monkeys... XD Anyway, fun. We're supposed to go to the Career Center tomorrow to attend a seminar of a college. Joy.

Plant Science: I was growing drowsy by this time, and blinked sleepily at whatever was happening around me. The teacher went over the study guide again and we watched a video on California agriculture for the rest of class. When I'd finally had enough, I put my head down and closed my eyes until the last two minutes of the period.

English: I had trouble concentrating because I was growing really, really sleepy. We finished reading The Pearl today, and met the gruesome end of Coyotito. No one really was paying attention, and a blurry page met my eyes. I kept on for the rest of the period with half-closed eyes. I awoke towards the end and stared at the wall until the period ended. Sad, I know.

PE: More flag football... nothing interesting, except Jessica is staying after all. (I think) The coach told the guys to include the ladies, but they never listen, do they? Who cares.. I played defense yet again, but never managed to snag a flag.

Lunch: We had quite a feast... apple custard doughnuts, snickers bars, and french fries. YEAH!

Math: I got a clucking C on my math quiz. Heh, I'm going doooooooown, which is not a good sign. HOPEFULLY, I did well on the quiz today. There was a substitute teacher though.

Afterschool: I couldn't find Nadir and didn't know where the tryouts were taking place so I sat on the grass for an hour. And waited... I put my headphones on and listened to music and also drew on my notebook. Half an hour later, a few girls came up and asked if I had any money. I told them no, and one of them asked what I was drawing and why. I shrugged them off. The cheerleader from math came in a while later and waved. o_O Okay? At about 3:40, Dad and my aunt pulled up and I gratefully hopped inside. They had a leftover burger and fries from their trip to McDonalds, and I ate that as well. Then we waited for 4:30 to draw near. I got into an argument with Dad about grades, and the atmosphere was kinda tense for a while. Nadir came eventually, and she told me her teacher refused to let her go and 'fetch' me. Heh. Anyway, the coach also told her to recruit more girls because there hardly were any. As Nadir summed it up, six girls and forty guys. She said the guys, who are mostly football jocks, taunted the girls and told them what an awful job they were doing. She had to run the mile the first time. THE MILE! Jeebus. I'd be dead. One lap around the track and I'm panting. Whew. She's going for the long jumps and is sore all over. So I might join... it'll look good on a college application, and as a plus, I'll get fit. Nadir suggested the hurdles because short people have some sort of a benefit. O_O Short legs, I guess. They're going to practice everyday, so might as well join. I don't want to wait for two hours... I'm going to ask the head coach for the forms this week. I'm going to see the doctor on Saturday for my shots (NOOOOOOOOOO) so it's a good opportunity to get my physical done. The track thing is only for a month though.. I need to start building up my endurance by jogging around everyday afterschool. Nadir's aunt/grandmother wasn't at her house so we had to drive her home.

Dad got mad about me thinking about joining track because the carpool schedules will be all messed up. I apologized in the end (I was in a bad mood that day) and he gave in, and told me I could do it. Something will be worked out in the end. Something will. Heh. I got a lot of shirts from my aunt; and some neat ones with stripes, too. And a lot of clothes.
